Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in well-drained soil in full sun, spacing 2–3 feet apart. Taylor is an exceptionally narrow, columnar Eastern red cedar with rich, forest-green foliage that holds its color very well through winter. Its very tight, upright habit makes it ideal for formal accents, narrow screens, and hedges where space is extremely limited. Very adaptable to a range of soils.

Care Tips

No pruning is needed to maintain the naturally narrow, columnar form — Taylor stays tightly columnar without any intervention. Very drought tolerant and cold hardy once established. The blue-green berries provide important winter food for birds. No regular fertilizing needed. Taylor is one of the narrowest and most cold-hardy columnar junipers available — an excellent choice where space is severely limited but vertical evergreen structure is needed.
