Just Dandy Hinoki Falsecypress

Plant in spring or fall in moist, well-drained soil, spacing 2–3 feet apart. This compact Hinoki cypress is a charming, slow-growing specimen with a naturally neat, rounded form and feathery, golden-green foliage. Dig the planting hole to the same depth as the root ball, water thoroughly, and mulch 2–3 inches deep. Keep consistently watered through the first growing season.

Minimal pruning is needed to maintain the compact, natural form. Remove any dead branches in early spring. Keep soil consistently moist — Hinoki cypress does not tolerate drought well. Apply a light balanced fertilizer in spring. An excellent specimen plant for small gardens, foundation plantings, and mixed borders where year-round structure and fine texture are desired.
