Plant in moist, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0) enriched with organic matter. Space 2–3 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep.

Deadhead spent flower clusters after blooming to improve next year's bloom. Prune lightly after flowering if needed- Elf is a naturally dwarf, compact variety that requires minimal pruning to maintain its shape. Fertilize in spring with an acid fertilizer. Largely pest-free. An excellent dwarf mountain laurel for small spaces, rock gardens, and foundation plantings.
