Rainbow Leucothoe

Plant in moist, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0) enriched with organic matter. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep.

Water consistently after planting; perform best with steady moisture in partial to full shade. Prune out any oldest or winter-damaged stems at the base in early spring to maintain a tidy, vigorous plant. Avoid heavy shearing- the arching form is a key ornamental quality. Fertilize lightly in spring with an acid fertilizer. The foliage displays a remarkable range of colors- green, pink, cream, and orange- simultaneously, creating a uniquely multicolored effect. Largely pest-free.
