Burning Love Japanese Leucothoe

Plant in spring or fall in acidic, moist, well-drained soil in partial to full shade, spacing 3–4 feet apart. Burning Love is a leucothoe with dramatic, arching branches and foliage that changes from glossy green in summer to brilliant orange-red to burgundy in fall and winter — providing a spectacular, evolving seasonal display. Amend soil with peat or acidic compost if needed. Mulch generously.

Prune out any dead or damaged stems in early spring. Cut a few of the oldest stems to the ground periodically to rejuvenate the plant. Feed with an acid fertilizer in early spring.
