Luminary® Evening Glow Phlox

Plant in spring or fall in moist, well-drained soil, spacing 18–24 inches apart. Garden phlox performs best with adequate moisture and good air circulation — the latter is especially important for minimizing powdery mildew, which is a common issue in humid climates. Dig the planting hole to the depth of the root ball, amend with compost, and water well. Mulch to retain moisture.

Water at the base of the plant rather than overhead to keep foliage dry and reduce mildew pressure. Divide clumps every two to three years in early spring to maintain vigor and improve air circulation. Removing spent flower heads promptly may encourage a secondary bloom. Fertilize in spring with a balanced fertilizer. The fragrant flowers attract butterflies and hummingbirds throughout summer.
