Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil amended with compost. Space 18-24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch around the base.

Care Tips

Water consistently throughout the growing season. Deadhead spent spikes promptly for rebloom. One of the tallest in the West Country series- stake if needed in windy locations. More vigorous and longer-lived than older lupine strains. Allow some self-sowing. Watch for aphids and slugs. Towering Inferno produces vivid scarlet-red and orange bicolor spikes on exceptionally tall stems- a towering, dramatic presence in the late spring border.
