Mini Cherry Flower Carpet® Rose covers itself in masses of petite cherry-red flowers on a plant that hugs the ground. Rosa Flower Carpet Mini Cherry grows 1 to 2 feet tall and spreads 2 to 3 feet in full sun, hardy from Zone 5 through Zone 10.
The flowers are smaller than the rest of the line and produced in such quantity that they blanket the foliage from late spring to frost.
Flower Carpet roses were bred in Germany for landscape performance rather than cut-flower form: a low spreading habit, continuous bloom, and enough disease resistance to go without spraying. They are self-cleaning, so no deadheading, and they fill in to the ground rather than going bare at the base.
This is the most compact Flower Carpet, small enough for a container, a rock garden, or a narrow strip along a walk where the wide-spreading types would take over. It also takes heat to Zone 10. Cut back by about a third in late winter. Shipped on its own roots.
