Hameln Dwarf Fountain Grass

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Water regularly after planting; once established it tolerates moderate drought. Cut back to 4–6 inches in late winter or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring when the center begins to die out. No fertilization needed. Note that standard Hameln fountain grass can self-seed- if this is a concern, choose a sterile selection. The soft, creamy-white flower plumes arch gracefully over the fine-textured, dark green foliage from midsummer through fall. The plumes and foliage turn attractive warm tan in fall. A classic, reliable ornamental grass.
