Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 12–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Good drainage is essential- moss phlox will not tolerate wet or heavy soil.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is moderately drought tolerant. Shear the entire plant back by about one-third immediately after the spring bloom flush- this keeps it compact, prevents the center from opening up, and encourages dense new growth. Without this annual shearing, plants tend to become woody and open in the center over time. Fertilize lightly in early spring. Largely pest-free and deer resistant.
