Planting Tips

Plant in average, well-drained soil. Highly adaptable to clay, sandy, and poor soils. Space 5–7 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant and very adaptable. Prune out one-third of the oldest canes at the base in early spring. Fertilize lightly in spring if desired. Largely pest- and disease-free. Center Glow has spectacular foliage with a golden-yellow to chartreuse center and deep burgundy-red margins- the two-toned, glowing effect is striking and unusual. White flowers in spring and attractive seed capsules follow. An outstanding native shrub.
