Passion Andromeda

Plant in spring or fall in acidic, moist, well-drained soil in partial shade. Passion andromeda features attractive reddish new growth and clusters of white, lily-of-the-valley-like flowers in early spring. Amend soil with peat or acidic compost if needed. Set the root ball at or just above grade, mulch 3–4 inches deep, and water well. Protect from harsh afternoon sun and drying winter winds.

Minimal pruning is needed beyond removing dead wood in early spring after flowering. Feed with an acid fertilizer once in early spring. Keep soil consistently moist throughout the growing season. Replenish mulch annually to help maintain soil moisture and acidity. All parts are toxic if ingested. A beautiful, year-round acid-loving shrub for shaded foundation plantings and woodland-style garden settings.
