Plant in average to lean, well-drained to dry soil. Space 3-4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is highly drought tolerant. Prune out one-third of the oldest canes at the base in late winter or early spring each year. Fertilize lightly in spring if desired. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. Happy Face® produces flowers in warm yellow to orange tones with excellent, prolific production over a very long season from late spring through summer. A cheerful, tough, low-maintenance shrub for challenging, dry, and lean sites.
