Pairs well with

Amber Flower Carpet® Rose opens semi-double flowers in amber to apricot that fade to seashell pink as they age, so a plant in bloom carries the full range at once. Rosa Flower Carpet Amber grows 1 to 2 feet tall and spreads 5 to 6 feet in full sun, hardy from Zone 4 through Zone 8.

Bloom is continuous from late spring through frost, with no deadheading needed.

Flower Carpet roses were bred in Germany for landscape performance rather than cut-flower form: a low spreading habit, continuous bloom, and enough disease resistance to go without spraying. They are self-cleaning, so no deadheading, and they fill in to the ground rather than going bare at the base.

The five to six foot spread makes this one of the widest, so a single plant covers real ground as a bank cover or a long edging. Zone 4 hardiness is unusual in the line and puts it further north than most of the group. Cut back by about a third in late winter. Space 4 feet apart for coverage. Shipped on its own roots.

Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in well-drained soil. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball. Space 2–3 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the canes.

Care Tips

Water deeply and regularly the first season. No deadheading is required- Flower Carpet roses self-clean. Prune back by about one-third in early spring to shape and encourage vigorous new growth. Fertilize with a balanced rose fertilizer in spring and midsummer. Flower Carpet roses are bred for exceptional disease resistance and are among the most carefree roses available. Monitor for black spot and aphids. The warm amber-apricot flowers are produced in continuous flushes from spring to frost.
