Buttercream Drift® Rose carries wave after wave of creamy yellow flowers that soften to white, with a light scent you notice up close. Rosa Buttercream Drift grows about 18 inches tall and spreads 2.5 feet in full sun, hardy from Zone 4 through Zone 11.
Bloom is continuous from mid-spring until frost, and the flowers clean off on their own so no deadheading is needed. The color is softer and more buttery than the brighter yellows, which makes it easier to place next to pinks and whites.
Drift roses are a cross between full-size groundcover roses and miniature roses, bred to stay low and spread wide while blooming continuously. They were developed to fill the awkward spots: hillsides, narrow strips along a walk, the front edge of a bed, containers. All of them are self-cleaning, disease resistant, and need no deadheading.
Disease resistance is high, so the foliage holds clean through humid summers with no spray program. Cut back by about a third in late winter. Shipped on its own roots.
