Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in spring or fall in fertile, well-drained soil, spacing 24–30 inches apart. Queen Elizabeth is one of the most famous grandiflora roses ever bred — vigorous, tall, disease-resistant, and producing large, clear pink flowers in clusters on long, strong stems. Dig a wide planting hole, add compost, and water deeply. Apply mulch. Full sun and good air circulation are important.

Care Tips

Prune in early spring, removing dead wood and reducing canes by about one-third to one-half. The vigorous, tall growth of Queen Elizabeth means it may benefit from somewhat harder pruning than other roses. Deadhead spent clusters for continuous flowering. Fertilize every four to six weeks. Water consistently. Queen Elizabeth has been one of the most reliable, widely grown, and disease-resistant roses for over 60 years. An enduring classic.
