Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in well-drained, fertile soil. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball. Provide a very sturdy support structure. Space 8–10 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the canes.

Care Tips

Water deeply and consistently throughout the season. Train new canes horizontally on the support to maximize flowering. Prune in early spring to remove dead or damaged canes and lightly shape. Fertilize with a rose fertilizer in spring and midsummer. Avoid overhead watering. Good disease resistance. The large, cupped, soft pink flowers carry a strong myrrh fragrance. Strawberry Hill is a moderately vigorous climbing English rose suitable for pillars, pergolas, and large obelisks.
