Yellow Flower Carpet® Rose holds a bright yellow that stays saturated rather than bleaching pale by midsummer, which most yellow landscape roses do not manage. Rosa Flower Carpet Yellow grows about 2 feet tall and spreads 5 to 6 feet in full sun, hardy from Zone 5 through Zone 8.
The flowers are semi-double and bloom continuously from late spring through fall with no deadheading.
Flower Carpet roses were bred in Germany for landscape performance rather than cut-flower form: a low spreading habit, continuous bloom, and enough disease resistance to go without spraying. They are self-cleaning, so no deadheading, and they fill in to the ground rather than going bare at the base.
The habit is slightly more upright than the other Flower Carpets while still spreading five to six feet, so it fills space without lying flat. Cut back by about a third in late winter. Space 4 feet apart for coverage. Shipped on its own roots.
