Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in moist to wet, well-drained soil. Space 6–8 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep.

Care Tips

Water consistently and generously- willows thrive with reliable moisture and tolerate wet conditions very well. For the best foliage and stem effect, cut one-third of the oldest stems to the ground in late winter or early spring each year to encourage vigorous new growth. Alternatively, cut the entire plant back hard every 2–3 years. Fertilize lightly in spring. The narrow, gray-green, rosemary-like foliage creates a fine-textured, silvery effect in the landscape. Largely pest-free.
