Planting Tips

Plant in lean, well-drained, acidic soil (pH 4.5–6.0). Space 12–18 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting. Excellent drainage is essential.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Shear lightly after flowering to maintain a compact, tidy form. Do not cut into old, leafless wood. Fertilize lightly in spring with an acid fertilizer. Spring Torch is a spring-blooming heather with vivid foliage color in addition to flowers- the young growth tips glow in warm, golden to orange tones in spring, creating a torchlike, colorful display even before the flowers appear. Largely pest-free and deer resistant.
