Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in average to moist, well-drained soil. Space 8–10 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water consistently after planting; once established it tolerates moderate drought. Little pruning is needed- remove dead or crossing branches in early spring. Plant with another viburnum variety nearby for cross-pollination and the best berry crop. Fertilize lightly in spring. The white flower clusters in spring, large red-to-black berries in fall that are exceptionally attractive to birds, and good fall foliage color make this a productive and ornamental native shrub. Largely pest-free.
