Planting Tips

Plant in average, well-drained soil. Space 3–4 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it tolerates moderate drought. Prune by removing one-third of the oldest canes at the base immediately after the main spring flowering flush. Fertilize lightly in early spring. Largely pest-free. Midnight Wine Shine® has deeply colored, glossy, near-black foliage with an attractive sheen- the high-gloss finish distinguishes it from other dark-foliaged weigelas. The vivid pink tubular flowers provide bold contrast against the dark, lustrous leaves. Attractive to hummingbirds.
