Planting Tips

Plant in average, well-drained soil. Space 4–5 feet apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it tolerates moderate drought. Prune by removing one-third of the oldest canes at the base immediately after the main spring flowering flush. Fertilize lightly in early spring. Largely pest-free. Vinho Verde® has distinctive, bright chartreuse-green foliage- a refreshing, light-toned color quite unlike typical dark or wine-red foliaged weigelas. The soft pink tubular flowers contrast beautifully against the bright green leaves. Attractive to hummingbirds.
