Planting and Care Guide

Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch 2–3 inches deep. Good air circulation reduces powdery mildew pressure.

Care Tips

Water regularly throughout the growing season. Deadhead spent flower clusters to extend bloom and prevent self-seeding of off-type seedlings. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring when clumps become overcrowded. Monitor for powdery mildew- improved resistance, but air circulation still helps. Fertilize lightly in spring. The pure white flowers are luminous in partially shaded settings and highly attractive to butterflies and hummingbirds.
