Planting Tips

Plant in average to lean, well-drained soil. Space 18–24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting.

Care Tips

Water regularly after planting; once established it is quite drought tolerant. Pinch back in late spring to encourage a compact, bushy habit- an essential step to prevent flopping. Deadhead after flowering or leave seed heads for birds and winter interest. Cut to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Largely pest-free and deer resistant. Wrinkleleaf goldenrod has distinctively textured, wrinkled, deep green leaves that are ornamental even when not in bloom. The vivid golden-yellow flower plumes in fall are outstanding for late-season pollinators.
