Yaku Prince Rhododendron

Plant in spring in acidic, moist, well-drained soil. This compact variety is well suited to smaller gardens where full-sized rhododendrons would be too large. Dig a wide, shallow planting hole, set the root ball at or slightly above grade, and mulch 3 inches deep. Water thoroughly at planting and maintain consistent moisture through the first season.

Remove spent blooms after flowering to improve next year's floral display. Feed with an acid fertilizer in early spring. The compact form means minimal pruning is needed — just remove any dead wood in spring. Water during dry spells. A reliable, smaller-scale rhododendron with the same beautiful flowers as its larger relatives.
