Yuki Kabuki™ Deutzia

Plant in spring or fall, spacing 3–4 feet apart. Deutzia adapts well to average, well-drained soils and is not fussy about soil quality. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch lightly to retain moisture. Keep consistently watered through the first growing season while the root system establishes.

Prune deutzia right after it finishes blooming in late spring or early summer — this is important because it flowers on old wood, and pruning at the wrong time removes next year's buds. Thin out a few of the oldest stems to the base each year to keep the plant vigorous. Once established, it is quite low maintenance and drought tolerant.
