Planting Tips

Plant in moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Space 18-24 inches apart. Water thoroughly after planting and mulch to retain moisture.

Care Tips

Water consistently throughout the season. This native woodland perennial produces attractive, heart-shaped leaves and flat, yellow flower clusters in spring. The foliage provides good interest through the season. Cut back to the ground in late fall or early spring. Divide every 3–4 years in spring. Largely pest-free. A charming and underused native plant for shaded woodland gardens and partly shaded borders, where its bold foliage and cheerful spring flowers add a natural, wildflower character.
